Waiting for the equipment you want to use or hesitant to
leave the equipment you're using for fear of it being taken?
Wearing certain clothes or having to dress up to ‘fit in’ to
the gym because of the anxiety of being judged by others?
Gym bros with big egos seeking attention and/or people constantly
posing in front of the mirrors for selfies, which makes you feel like you’re in
real-life Instagram
Feeling intimidated because you don’t have much training experience
and worrying that others might judge you?
Lock in gym contracts that are hard to leave and being asked
100 questions about why you want to cancel, leaving you feeling frustrated and uncomfortable
Don't worry, we hated all the above too...
Reduced Crowding
We have a member cap to avoid crowding and waiting for equipment. Once this cap is reached, we will not take any new members
Community Vibe
This gym attracts certain personality types, probably because
it doesn’t look fancy and doesn’t have walls of mirrors. In this gym, people talk
to each other, say hello and are friendly. You’ll be treated like a member and
not just a $ sign
Simple Gym Memberships
If you need to cancel your membership, we don’t need multiple weeks' notice. You don’t even need to physically come in to sign anything. Just send a text or email, and we’ll cancel your membership in 30 seconds, no questions asked
Proper Strength Training Equipment
If you’re into powerlifting, we have multiple competition
racks, barbells and calibrated plates. Likewise, we have all the important accessory machines that commercial gyms have
Limited Mirrors
Too many mirrors can create a ‘self-centred’ atmosphere, which changes the overall vibe of the gym and can attract certain personality types that probably won’t fit in to this gym
Supportive Members
Going for a new PR and need a spot? There’ll be someone to
help you out. Have a question about training, nutrition or your technique? Ask the gym owner, he enjoys helping

I am the owner and head coach at SPC Performance Lab. After years of coaching and being a member of various commercial gyms, I encountered the same issues: overcrowding, waiting for equipment, ego-driven environments, poor-quality equipment for powerlifting, lock-in gym contracts that are hard to exit, and a lack of community, among others. I realised that opening my own gym was the best way to address these problems.
SPC Performance Lab was founded with the mindset, "If I were a gym member, how would I want to be treated, and what kind of environment would I want to train in?" I created a space for individuals who don't want to train in commercial gyms by focusing on overcoming the common issues they face in those facility types and encouraging a community of like-minded individuals.
Since its opening, the gym has been steadily growing, and my goal is to continue expanding our community and improving the gym. I want to ensure everyone has access to a welcoming and non-intimidating facility where they can train to become better versions of themselves.
